We are inviting applications from qualified Cardiac Sonographers to join our busy team based in the Waikato, New Zealand.

About the service:

The Cardiac ultrasound service at Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Waikato provides a variety of invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures to the local population. Our department is well equipped and performs over 9,000 scans per annum, including 4D Echocardiography.

About the role:

You’ll see yourself performing and reporting on transthoracic cardiac ultrasound examinations and assisting with transoesophageal and other echo supported procedures. You will serve both the inpatient and outpatient areas, acute needs in ED, ICU and theatre, and assist in other diagnostic areas when required. We also currently provide satellite echocardiography clinics in our outlying communities.

Required skills and experience:

• Be registered as a sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB) with a current practicing certificate;

OR

• Have an appropriate qualification for cardiac sonography acceptable for registration as a sonographer with the New Zealand MRTB

Waikato Hospital in Hamilton is a Level-1 trauma centre and one of New Zealand’s largest tertiary, teaching hospitals with over 600 inpatient beds and 22 operating theatres.
