Full Time Sonographer

Thunder Bay is on the shores of the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior.  Thunder Bay offers a unique combination of the full services enjoyed by a mid-sized city with the outdoor activities of a more rural community.  An abundance of outdoor activities are available within minutes of the city, such as camping, canoeing, world class cross country skiing and the biggest slopes in Ontario for downhill skiing.  Residents also enjoy abundant fishing, golfing, hiking, rowing, and sea kayaking.  With the 3rd largest international airport in Ontario, Thunder Bay is less than a 2-hour flight to Toronto airports.  For those who prefer driving, larger centres like Winnipeg, Manitoba and Minneapolis, Minnesota are only 7 scenic hours away.

Its geographical size and location in Northwestern Ontario makes Thunder Bay the regional hub for medical diagnostic imaging. Thunder Bay Diagnostics is a group of 4 medical imaging clinics. We are recognized as the centre of excellence for the region’s MSK and high-risk obstetrical ultrasound imaging.  We enjoy a close relationship with Toronto’s Sick Kids and Mt Sinai perinatal services.  We also offer services in general and vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, x-ray, mammography and BMD.

The position is permanent full-time, with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.  New graduates are encouraged and welcome to apply.  A competitive wage with an option for conversion to fee-for-service remuneration model and a $5,200.00 signing bonus will be available for the successful candidate.  We also offer a comprehensive benefits package with 100% coverage for drugs and dental.  Currently, we operate 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, with some evening 12-8 shifts.  We are very open-minded and flexible when considering individual employee requests for shifts.

Effective January 1, 2019 Ontario became the first province to regulate the profession of Ultrasound, therefore, the successful candidate must be a member in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO).  Out of province applicants can contact the CMRTO 1(800) 563 -5847 to ensure they meet the specific qualifications for your province to register as a member of the CMRTO.

Interested candidates please send resume to Mr. Dave Williams, President at dave@tbmed.ca
