Position Overview:
Saskatoon Medical Imaging is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, collaborating with radiologists and other staff, and providing exceptional patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the latest ultrasound technology and to contribute to the delivery of outstanding diagnostic services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ultrasound Imaging: Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans.
Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions they may have. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times. - Image Acquisition and Analysis: Obtain high-quality ultrasound images by properly positioning patients and adjusting equipment settings as necessary. Analyze images for clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic relevance, identifying any abnormalities or pathology.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document examination findings and patient information in Radiology Information (RIS) systems. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing imaging results for review by radiologists and referring physicians.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation of ultrasound findings and timely delivery of diagnostic reports.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to established quality assurance protocols and regulatory standards for ultrasound imaging. Perform regular equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
- Continuing Education: Stay abreast of advancements in ultrasound technology, imaging techniques, and medical best practices through ongoing education and professional development opportunities. Maintain relevant certifications and licensure requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited institution.
- Current credentialed member with Sonography Canada.
- Active membership in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Professionals of Saskatchewan (CMRIPS).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer, preferably in a hospital or medical imaging center setting would be an asset. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations across various body systems and specialties.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
