Sonography Canada / ARDMS Partnership

Applications are Now Being Accepted!

Sonography Canada members pursuing ARDMS credentials in Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Pediatric Sonography, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Musculoskeletal specialties can substitute their passing scores on Sonography Canada Core Examinations 5.1, 6.0, or 6.1 (written in the last five years) for the ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam.

This gives Sonography Canada members the ability to earn additional credentials and demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in additional specialties, thereby opening new potential career pathways for Canadian sonographers.

How Do You Take Advantage of This?

Applicants just need to indicate during the ARDMS application process that they are an Active Sonography Canada member with Canadian credentials.

You can now apply for one or more of the following:

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS)

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

By acknowledging your active membership with Sonography Canada during the application process, ARDMS will verify your version of the Core Exam with one of our team members.

This partnership is reflective of our strong and enduring relationship with ARDMS.  This opportunity gives our members a more streamlined pathway to earn select ARDMS credentials to validate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in these specialties,” said Susan Clarke, Executive Director of Sonography Canada. “It also provides Canadian sonographers with the opportunity to be recognized for their career achievements and potentially opens new avenues for their practice.

Having this agreement between Sonography Canada and ARDMS allows more sonographers to meet patient care needs while strengthening the global sonography community.  We are proud to be in this partnership,” said Dale Cyr CEO and Executive Director of Inteleos.
