11:30 am ET – Diagnostic Work Up in Breast Imaging-Tips and Pitfalls

Mammogram findings, determining level of suspicion and location, interesting cases.

12:30 pm ET – Advancing Detection:​ The Combined Role of Mammography and ABUS

Christina and Katie will be discussing the role of mammogram and ABUS working together to further detect breast cancer in dense breast tissue.  We will go over what our workflow looks like at MF, correlating mammo with ABUS and HH ultrasound as well as some interesting cases. 

1:30 pm ET – See-Mode: AI Enhanced Ultrasound Reporting

An introduction and virtual demo of the Health Canada approved AI reporting tool for Thyroid and Breast imaging.

Kandis DeColle CRGS

Kandis DeColle has been a proud Sonographer since 2002.   She is currently a clinic and ultrasound modality manager for MIC Medical Imaging in Edmonton, AB. 
Kandis received a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Saskatchewan before moving to Edmonton and obtaining a Medical Radiation Technologist certification from NAIT.  After a few years of working in Radiography at the University of Alberta Hospitals she graduated as a Diagnostic Medial Sonographer. 
Since then, she has been happily employed as a Sonographer, team leader, clinical educator and manager.   Kandis is a proud patient and ultrasound advocate with a passion in the areas of advancing technology, quality imaging and patient centered care.  

Dr. Jennifer Allen MD

Christina Shahipour CRGS

Christina Shahipour has been a sonographer since 2011 with a keen interest in breast imaging. She has been heavily involved in breast biopsies and has been the breast interventional coordinator for the past 7 years at Mayfair Diagnostics in Calgary, AB.  She also is one of three sonographers that is involved with on-the-job breast ultrasound training for new hires and new graduates at her workplace.  She has a passion for teaching and mentoring in breast imaging.  In her spare time, her and her husband take their teenagers around to hockey rinks all over Alberta.  She also enjoys escaping to their cabin on the weekends at Gull Lake or just lazing around the house with their two dogs. 

Katie Kaminski CRGS

Katie has been with Mayfair since 2012 and became the mammography coordinator in 2016. She is responsible for maintaining Mayfair’s mammography program, including training new mammography technologists.  Katie also works with Christina to lead Mayfair’s Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) Program and trains the techs responsible for stereotactic breast biopsy.  Katie is passionate about breast imaging, performing mammography, ABUS, breast biopsies and handheld breast ultrasound. 

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dogs. She is especially proud of her four kids and loves spending time biking, running, camping and hiking with them!
