This talk will discuss the role of the first trimester anatomy scan (11-13+6 weeks) in the era of non-invasive prenatal screening based on cell-free DNA (NIPS). The current standard, the basic 11-13+6-week anatomy scan, the early comprehensive anatomy scan, and the role of nuchal translucency in the NIPT era, will be discussed. The importance of the 11-13+6-week window for prediction and prevention of adverse pregnancy outcome, will also be reviewed.
