The payscale for Sonographers is $38.71 to $48.31 per hour depending upon experience. The sonography positions at Interior Health are governed under the Health Science Professionals collective agreement.

  • Kelowna / Kelowna General Hospital {General, Echo, Biopsies/Drainage}
  • Vernon / Vernon Jubilee Hospital {General, Echo, Vascular, Biopsies/Drainage, Portable Procedures}
  • Penticton / Penticton Regional Hospital {General, Biopsies/Drainage}
  • Trail / Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital {General and Echo}
  • Cranbrook / East Kootenay Regional Hospital {General and Echo}
  • Nelson / Kootenay Lake Hospital {General, Echo, Vascular, Small Parts, MSK}
  • Golden/Golden and District Hospital {General, Vascular, MSK}
  • Salmon Arm/Shuswap Lake General Hospital {General, Echo, Vascular, Biopsies/Drainage}


  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular).
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
