Hours: Mon-Fri 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hour shift, 30 minutes unpaid. 8am -4pm shifts)

This position is responsible for the performance of ultrasound examinations in accordance with the standards, practices and code of ethics of Sonography Canada and Mayfair. Sonographers performing ultrasound procedures are in a position that requires a highly responsible and professional attitude. They are exposed to many serious and very personal issues. They must ensure the highest quality care possible in both a personal and professional manner. They are expected to work in cooperation with reception, technical assistants, radiologists and clinic managers as part of a team whose primary focus is to provide exemplary customer service to the patient.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating ultrasound equipment and performing ultrasound examinations in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with Sonography Canada standards and practice and shall adhere to their Code of Ethics.
  • Responsible for performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with Mayfair and CAR (Canadian Association of Radiologists) standards.
  • Provides exemplary customer service in the care of the patient.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Mayfair Ultrasound training with a sound knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Active credentials and membership in good standings with Sonography Canada inclusive of liability insurance.
  • Demonstrated superior technological skills with proof of competency in abdominal, obstetric, pelvic, small parts, superficial structures, and general vascular ultrasound procedures.
  • You exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills and delight in talking with people and taking care of them; making the patient experience as effortless as possible.
  • You are a strong team player and are able to work independently. A positive attitude and proactive team and service oriented mentality are essential to this role.
  • You have superior time management and multitasking skills with the ability to keep up with a demanding daily workload.
  • You have the natural ability to express yourself in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner.
  • Demonstrated professionalism with the ability to confidently answer the question asked (while maintaining confidentiality) and proactively answer the next one before it’s even been thought of.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and priority-setting skills.
