Sonography Canada is the national certification body and professional association for diagnostic medical sonographers in Canada. You will lead strategies that enhance member engagement and strengthen retention, attract new members to the organization and clearly communicate the value of membership. Your work will ensure every current and potential member understands how the organization supports their professional growth, learning, and success.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement strategies to engage, retain, and grow membership.
- Develop key messages and content for members using evidence-based information that promotes the organization’s activities and impact.
- With the support of a Communications Specialist, develop key messages and content; lead marketing campaigns across multiple channels that communicates Sonography Canada’s value to members.
- Play a key role in the design and implementation of an engaging, user-friendly website.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance member programming, benefits, and services.
- Provide communications support to Sonography Canada’s member events.
- Develop and build upon professional relationships with current and potential corporate supporters to build meaningful, long-term mutually rewarding business relationships to enable programming that supports members’ needs.
- Serve as staff support to designated committees and working groups in the areas of Awards and Bursaries.
- Analyze membership data and trends to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and refine engagement initiatives.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with members, volunteers, and sponsors to create meaningful, long-term connections.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 4–6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or membership management (professional association experience preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication skills; bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Proficiency with AMS/CRM platforms, website management, and development of strategic digital/social media campaigns.
- Experience with website design and management. This position will play an integral role in the design and implementation of a refreshed website for the organization. Must have the ability to thrive and contribute during a period of technology transition.
- Strategic thinker with a creative, member-focused approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills — proven ability to manage collaborative relationships with staff, vendors, volunteers and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to work effectively and ethically with AI tools as they evolve, including adapting workflows and applying critical judgment to AI-generated outputs.
- Comfortable in a MS Office work environment, including the use of SharePoint.
