The Role – Education Coordinator
Reporting to the Manager, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), the Coordinator will assist in the development and delivery of CPD and education activities. Specific duties will include enhancing the member’s experience through coordinating activities relating to educational offerings.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Member Education
- Assists with the development, promotion, and delivery of all education activities including, but not limited to, monthly member webinars, Specialty Education Days, Virtual Education Day, Sonography Week, CPD Countdown Week, and in-person events. May provide logistical support for some in-person educational events.
- Supports the development of and tracking of the education activities calendar – including topics, speakers, dates, and times.
- Helps facilitate live webinars and pre-recording educational lectures.
- Editing videos and learning resources for the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Administers the LMS including the Member Video Library, organization of online courses, and course registration for fee-based education activities.
- Facilitates the awarding of CPD credits to members for educational activities.
- Provides support to members with inquiries about CPD activities and credits.
Accredited CPD Providers
- Maintains the Continuing Professional Development Provider application and approval process, including online application forms, tracking, payment processing, and approval confirmation.
- Collects and maintains activity rosters for Educational Rounds activities delivered by approved CPD Providers.
- Responds to inquiries from current and new CPD Providers at renewal period and throughout the year.
SonoCon – Annual Conference
- Works as part of the event planning team to deliver a high quality in-person and virtual learning experience for members.
- Supports the development of the SonoCon program, including educational tracks and topics, speaker management, and hands-on workshops.
- Provides regular updates to the event planning committee on program changes, gaps, and other edits.
- Performs post event CPD credit reconciliation and prepares credit upload.
- Provides support for post event inquiries for credit and event recording access.
Communications and Reporting
- Works with the Membership, Marketing and Communication team to schedule email and social media advertising of education activities.
- Updates the Upcoming Events calendar on the web site.
- Provides data on transactions and utilization for finance reconciliation, membership metrics, and CPD reporting and planning.
- Helps support the activities and meetings of the CPD Committee.
- As the Continuing Professional Development program at Sonography Canada grows, additional related duties may be assigned.
- A small amount of weekend travel may be required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Completion of post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business administration, or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in learning and development, communications and/or membership administration required.
- Experience with not-for-profit and member-based associations preferred.
- Proficiency in English language (oral/written); French a strong asset.
- Experience with MS-Office suite, SharePoint, WordPress website, LMS platforms, video editing skills, Zoom webinars and meetings; ability to adopt new technologies (i.e. AI tools) as they develop.
- Experience with Association Management Software (AMS) or CRM tools

Location: The position is located at the national office in Ottawa, ON. Staff are expected to be in the office for a minimum of three days per week.
Hours: Full-Time
