We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate General Diagnostic Medical Sonographers to join our private radiology clinic expansion to include a brand new ultrasound service. The service is projected to be in operation in September 2025, serving the city of Kamloops and surrounding communities with three new ultrasound machines. We are offering daytime only, flexible hours to fill multiple full-time and part-time positions. Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Operate ultrasound equipment independently to capture images of various body parts.
- Analyze images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal results.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed and any relevant findings.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in diagnosis.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized according to safety standards.
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuous education and training.
Qualifications:
- Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada and/or Active membership from a recognized professional organization.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is an advantage but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to scan 10-12 cases per day, with efficient time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Consistently acquires exceptional quality diagnostic images and interpretation.
- Committed to providing professional and compassionate patient care.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions.
- Strong team player, comfortable interacting with other team members.
