Sonographer
This position is located at Medpoint Health Care Centre in Burlington On at 1100 Walker’s Line
The Registered sonographer is responsible for working within a team environment to complete diagnostic imaging. Efficient and professional manner. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.
Responsibilities:
- Carries out a technical flow of work.
- Works with physicians, other healthcare professionals and departments within the clinic to provide complete patient care.
- Optimizes the processes and quality of images provided.
- We are specifically looking for a technologist to conduct abdominal ultrasounds for our patients in our executive medicals.
- Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Greets the patient, explains the forthcoming test, positions the patient and generally prepares him/her for the examination.
- Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs and summons medical aid when necessary
- Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
- Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
- Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
- Prepares/organizes reports as required.
- Demonstrates an ability to work as a team member.
- Demonstrates an ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
- Proven attendance record.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.

Required license or certification:
- Must be a member in good standing with the CRMITO
- Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program
- Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada
