This position is located at Medpoint Health Care Centre in Burlington On at 1100 Walker’s Line

The Registered sonographer is responsible for working within a team environment to complete diagnostic imaging. Efficient and professional manner. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out a technical flow of work.
  • Works with physicians, other healthcare professionals and departments within the clinic to provide complete patient care.
  • Optimizes the processes and quality of images provided.
  • We are specifically looking for a technologist to conduct abdominal ultrasounds for our patients in our executive medicals.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Greets the patient, explains the forthcoming test, positions the patient and generally prepares him/her for the examination.
  • Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs and summons medical aid when necessary
  • Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
  • Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
  • Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Prepares/organizes reports as required.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work as a team member.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting healthcare environment.

Required license or certification:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the CRMITO
  • Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program
  • Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
