Call for Proposals: Submit for Year-Round CPD Activities

We want to hear from the best – and that’s you! Sonography Canada is accepting lecture proposals from sonographers, physicians, researchers, and other subject matter experts in the profession. We are looking for your tips, best practices, research, and insights on your critical role within sonography. Use the tabs below to learn more about Sonography Canada’s yearly CPD events.`

Submit your idea for a talk with any level of detail you can provide. We can work with you to develop your idea, create learning objectives and find the right activity to showcase your topic!
Presentations can be delivered by one or multiple speakers, we can support different formats and duration of lectures and educational sessions.

2024 Annual Conference

Hybrid (In-Person/Virtual) | October 25-27, 2024 | Hyatt Regency Vancouver

Interested in presenting your work? Call for Proposals for SonoCon 2024 is open!
SonoCon is Sonography Canada’s annual event designed for sonographers, sonography students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who use sonography in their practice. The conference offers learning, hands-on workshops, and connections including networking opportunities and an exhibit hall. Participants will earn CPD credits while learning about new sonographic techniques and practice management strategies on focused areas of practice. The location and dates for the 2024 event will be posted soon.

Speaker Responsibilities

  • Prepare a 40-50 minute presentation and submit prior to the event
  • Pre-Record your talk for the Hybrid virtual audience
  • Deliver the presentation live on the conference date at the assigned time
  • Answer questions from conference attendees upon completion of the presentation
  • Technical and audio-visual support provided by the Sonography Canada Conference Team and its suppliers
  • Moderators will be assigned to each session
  • Additional benefits for participation!

Submission Review Deadline for SonoCon 2024: ​ March 30, 2024

AGM and Education Day

June 22, 2024 | Virtual

Sonography Canada’s virtual Education Day will take place immediately after the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, June 22, 2024 consisting of one plenary keynote presentation, and three to four concurrent breakout sessions on sonography based topics. The date of the Annual General Meeting and Education Day is subject to change, and will be confirmed.

Speaker Responsibilities

  • Prepare a 40-50 minute presentation (event planner will provide further information)
  • Deliver a presentation on the date at the assigned time (either 100% live, or pre-recorded presentation with live Q&A)
  • Answer questions from attendees upon completion of the presentation
  • Technical support and session moderators will be provided by the Sonography Canada team and its suppliers
  • The session will be recorded and uploaded to the Sonography Canada Video Library
  • Speakers will be awarded additional CPD credit for preparing and delivering the presentation

Monthly Webinar Series

Scheduled throughout the year | Virtual

Sonography Canada’s Monthly Webinars offer members expertise and knowledge sharing on a variety of current topics of interest, delivered by sonography and healthcare professionals. Members earn Sonography Based and Relevant to Practice CPD credits.

Speaker Responsibilities

  • Prepare a 40-50 minute presentation
  • Deliver a live presentation on the day at the assigned time via Zoom Webinars
  • Answer questions from webinar participants upon completion of the presentation
  • Technical support and session moderator(s) provided by the Sonography Canada team
  • The webinar will be recorded and uploaded to the Sonography Canada Video Library
  • Speakers will be awarded additional CPD credit for preparing and delivering the presentation

Other Information

  • Speaking at a Sonography Canada education event is a voluntary activity! Sonography Canada does not pay for speaker travel to the host city.
  • Additional CPD credits will be awarded for preparation and delivery of your presentation.
  • Some Sonography Canada events provide additional incentives for speakers.
