Message from Nancy Chouinard, CRGS, CRVS, CRCS, our Board Chair

Thank you to everyone who attending the Sonography Canada Annual General Meeting & Education Day on June 22, 2024.  For those who missed it, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new Board of Directors, and thank those who are stepping down from the board this year. 

First, we say goodbye to: 

• Susan Kinnear, CRGS, Director, Central Region 

• Carolyn Ayotte, CRCS, Director, Eastern Region 

• Laura Prince, CRGS, whose term as a Director at Large has ended, was elected by the membership earlier this year and will become the Director, Central Region.  

On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank those who are leaving for your contributions throughout your terms of office.  Each of you bring unique insight to our deliberations that will be missed. 

Becky Foster, Student Advisor 

Our Student Advisor’s one-year term will come to an end and Becky Foster from Dalhousie University will step down and undoubtedly go on to have a brilliant career in the field of sonography.  Thank you, Becky, for your fresh perspective and we wish you all the best in your studies and your career….we are expecting great things from you.   

Thank you all once again for your service. We’ll introduce incoming members of the Board of Directors towards the end of the meeting.

• Lise Melanson, CRGS, BSc. enters her third year as Francophone Relations advisor this year.   

• Tehmina Saiyed of Mohawk McMaster’s sonography program was appointed as the 2024-2025 Student Advisor following submission of 7 nominations from across the country.  Congratulations, Tehmina. 

• Susan Clarke, MBA continues in the role Executive Director and Corporate Secretary 

We are looking forward to another exciting year of serving our 7,000+ members!
