Important Updates to Sonography Canada Examinations
Sonography Canada would like to inform members and prospective candidates of several upcoming changes to the credentialing examination process. These updates include changes to exam delivery, important application deadlines, and the transition to the new Alternate Pathway NCP 7.0.
In-Person Examinations Only
Sonography Canada will be moving to an in-person examination format. Remote proctoring will no longer be offered for upcoming examination sessions. Candidates will be required to complete their examinations in person at an approved examination location.
Important Examination Dates
Candidates planning to write an upcoming examination should take note of the following deadlines:
- Application Deadline: Examination applications will close on November 8, 2026.
- Withdrawal Deadline: December 29, 2026, is the final date to withdraw from the January exam sitting.
We encourage candidates to review these deadlines carefully and ensure their applications and any necessary changes are submitted within the designated timeframes.
Transition to NCP 7.0
The upcoming examination sitting will be the final sitting to include the NCP 6.1 examinations.
Effective January 1, 2027, the Alternate Pathway NCP 7.0 will officially launch, marking the transition to the updated examination pathway.
Candidates considering the Alternate Pathway should familiarize themselves with the upcoming changes and review the updated examination information before applying.
