Happy New Year!  The Sonography Canada Board of Directors is very much looking forward to another busy year ahead. 

Susan reported a few results from the member research that was conducted in December.  We are pleased to advise that reports from this project plus companion research conducted with the Canadian public are now available to Sonography Canada members for review [Member Login Required]. 

What’s Next? 

The Board is looking forward to working with staff and policy advisors to develop messages that reflect both pieces of research.  Once we know what we are going to say, we’ll be communicating in a variety of ways to: 

• Politicians:  Elected officials at both federal and provincial levels. Healthcare is administered provincially but overall direction is shaped by the national government.  We’ve had some success in the past couple of years and the data that you’ve provided, backed up by input from the Canadian public, will strengthen our message.
• The Canadian Public:  We’ll be issuing press releases to the public and healthcare-specific publications about results, and what it means for the public, the healthcare system and sonographers.
• Senior Civil Servants:  Often need more detailed information to aid their decision making. We’ll be providing detailed reports on the issues that government is examining.
• For everyone:  A simple and descriptive infographic to share key data points that support our policies and positions.

Join the Sonography Canada Board of Directors! 

With our advocacy initiatives underway, it’s really exciting time to volunteer with the Sonography Canada Board of Directors.  There is still time to submit a nomination for one of the three positions: 

• Director at Large (3 Year Term) – Must be an Active Credentialed member and hold at least one of the following: CRGS®, CRCS® or CRVS® credentials. 
• Director, Eastern Region (3 Year Term) – Must be an Active Credentialed member and reside in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick and hold at least one of the following: CRGS®, CRCS® or CRVS® credentials. 
• Director, Central Region (3 Year Term) – Must be an Active Credentialed member and reside in Manitoba, Ontario, or Quebec hold at least one of the following: CRGS®, CRCS® or CRVS® credentials. 

Serving on the Board of Directors is an excellent opportunity to improve your leadership and personal skills, while broadening the scope of your professional networks. 

Submitting a Nomination: 

• Obtain three (3) supporting references from Active Members in good standing who each hold at least one of the following Sonography Canada credentials: CRGS®, CRCS®, CRVS®. 
• Complete the nomination form. [Member Login Required]
