Your Q3-2024 Association Update: From the Executive Directors Office
July 29, 2024Happy Summer!
We have been quite busy here in the last few months, and we have some really exciting updates to share:
- First, our membership period (ending April 30) ended with over 7,000 members! We are SO grateful to our member community for their continued support of Sonography Canada.
- A few weeks ago, we announced that our beloved journal, the Canadian Journal of Medical Sonography (CJMS), has gone digital! Going forward, CJMS will only be available online and available to anyone with an Internet connection, in Canada or around the world. Sonography Canada members will still be able to access quizzes about the articles to earn CPD credit.
- SonoCon 2024 registration has opened, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our community in Vancouver, BC. A fantastic program has been developed, including Hands-On Workshops, and we have a ghoul-y social night planned! For those who are unable to join us in person, we hope you will join us virtually.
As you can see, we have been busy. We are also thrilled to announce that key members of the Board and Staff will head to Ottawa this October for our first ever Hill Day…taking place October 8, 2024, we will have meeting with key members of parliament to discuss the priorities of sonographers, and how all levels of government and Sonography Canada to work together to improve allied health in Canada. We look forward to keeping you apprised on the activities as we continue to plan our efforts that day.
