Sonographer – Casual/Part-Time/Full-Time

We are committed to providing exceptional care for our patients and are recruiting for a Sonographer to join our growing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates an exceptional patient experience by providing professional and compassionate care
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the clinical area
  • Reviews examinations for appropriateness and patient eligibility
  • Obtains patient history and educates patients on exam examinations
  • Demonstrates competence in scanning abdominal, obstetrical, small parts, venous, carotid doppler and assisting in interventional examinations
  • Competence in musculoskeletal, arterial Doppler, trans-rectal and neuro sonography, although not required, is considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manages competing priorities that require independent judgment and initiative to support efficient workflow
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills in the assessment of complex pathologies
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clinic staff and patients
  • Demonstrated commitment to be an integral part of the diagnostic imaging team to ensure smooth workflow within the ultrasound department as well between the department and other departments in the clinic

Requirements :

  • A diploma or certificate from a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience working in a clinic or hospital setting would be considered an asset
  • Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada and Rregistration in good standing with ARDMS required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Shifts:  
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with flexibility for occasional evening and/or weekend shifts.
