Island Health is seeking a General Sonographer to join our team at North Island Hospital – Campbell River!

Job Title: General Sonographer

Location: Campbell River, BC

Salary Range: $40.83 – $50.94 per hour

Hours: All shifts, Days off – Thursday/Friday

Vacancy Type: Regular part-time

Planned Start Date: Feb. 14, 2024

What you need to apply:

  • Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma program.
  • Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification credentials as a Generalist Sonographer and one (1) year recent, related experience in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada.

Duties Include:

  • Receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports
  • Preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment
  • Patient monitoring; and operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to radiologists.

  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

  • Foster good public relations.
  • Operate related equipment, including computerized systems.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
