Each year, Sonography Canada recognizes and celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession of sonography or to the association.

Fellowship Award

Eligibility

  • Active credentialed member
  • Nominated by current credentialed member
  • 5 years continuous membership prior to appointment
  • Fully compliant with requirements of membership at time of nomination and appointment

Award Criteria

  • Active credentialed member
  • Supporting documentation from 2 additional Active members in good standing

Early Professional Achievement Award

Eligibility

  • Active credentialed member
  • Credentialed for 5 years or less at time of nomination deadline
  • Have demonstrated involvement in the profession that surpasses expectations based on their year(s) of service

Award Criteria

  • Leadership
  • Personal professional development/continuing education
  • Involvement in the profession

Student Achievement Award

Eligibility

  • Must be a current student or have graduated within the last 12 months from an accredited Canadian diagnostic sonography program.

Award Criteria

All submissions must be a:

  • Referenced written paper of work done as a student
  • May be completed as an individual or a group

Peter McLardie Memorial Education Bursary (Student)

Eligibility

  • Must have been a Student Member in the calendar year of the nomination.

Award Criteria

  • MUST be nominated by their education program
  • Must submit written statement demonstrating Peter McLardie’s values and exemplary dedication to this profession or other areas of your life in the following categories:
    • Community
    • Mentorship
    • Integrity

Peter McLardie Memorial Education Bursary (Sonographer)

Eligibility

  • Active credentialed Sonography Canada member
  • Seeks to advance their professional practice via education

Award Criteria

  • Essay describing how:  Peter’s example of professionalism and dedication is reflected in your personal education goals
  • How you will use funding and how it relates to your profession as a sonographer.

Award for Outstanding Journal Submission

Eligibility

  • Active credentialed member
  • Submitted article(s) to the CJMS within the last year

Award Criteria

  • Acknowledges current members who have exemplified excellence in providing educational and informative articles to the CJMS for the educational benefit of their peers
