Message from Carolyn Trottier, CRGS, CRVS, our Board Chair

Margaret MacDonald, CRGS, CRCS is stepping onto the Board as the Western Regional Director. Margaret brings us a wealth of experience. For those who do not know her, she has been a certified sonographer for over 30 years, has been employed clinically, as an educator, and was once the Certification Manager of the Sonography Canada national office team!

Kelsey Brisebois, CRGS, CRCS is joining the ranks of the Board of Directors as the Generalist Director. Kelsey has been a sonographer for over 6 years and has experience with both hospital and outpatient clinical settings, with half of her tenure in leadership roles.

The terms of office for Kelsey & Margaret will begin immediately following the Annual General Meeting on June 24, 2023.  Welcome Kelsey and Margaret!

I also want to thank those who are stepping off the Board of Directors, as their terms come to an end. Karen Swinnard, our Generalist Director, thank you for years of service on the Sonography Canada Board of Directors.  We appreciate your time, dedication and passion for the industry we serve.

And to our Board Advisors leaving us this year; Cathy Babiak, Dr. Sandy McDonald, and Christine Tallon, your candor and advice as we navigate how to best lead this association was so incredibly valuable, it’s difficult to put into words.

I wanted to personally thank you on behalf of all Sonography Canada members for your contributions! You will be missed.

Replacing me as the Chair is Nancy Chouinard, CRGS, CRCS, CRVS, who has an incredible passion for our profession, a deep interest in governance, and an ardent desire to see our association continue to succeed. I look forward to supporting Nancy as Past Chair!

This year’s AGM and Education Day will take place on Saturday, June 24 at 12:00 PM ET (Eastern Time). Registration will open in May, and I truly hope to see as many of you online as possible!
