New Year, New Strategic Plan
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish everyone an incredibly happy new year ahead! It is an exciting time for us at Sonography Canada, as this is the first year in our new Strategic Plan.
For 2023-2025 (inclusive), Sonography Canada will be focusing on four key strategic pillars:
- Work to influence the health care system on behalf of sonographers.
- Lead the continued progression of standards for diagnostic medical sonography to ensure the sustainability of the profession.
- Support members to thrive through all stages of their professional practice.
- Build upon Sonography Canada’s organizational development to enable efficiency and growth.

2023 Board Nominations Now Open!
As the current Chair of the Sonography Canada Board of Directors, I also wanted to take this opportunity to encourage you to submit your nomination for election to the Board. This is a great opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals to help shape the organization and the profession. This year, we are seeking nominations for two (2) positions:
Director Regional (Western): 3-Year Term
Must be an Active member and hold as least one of the following: CRGS®, CRCS® or CRVS® credentials for two years prior to taking office, and reside in British Columbia, Alberta, or Saskatchewan. The Director, Regional (Western) may liaise with provincial/regional sonography organizations and updates the Board on relevant regional topics.
Specialty Director (Generalist): 3-Year Term
Must be an Active Credentialed member holding the CRGS® credential for at least two years prior to taking office and actively practicing in the generalist sonographer specialty. The Specialty Director, Generalist, advises the Board on topics relating to the specialty.
It has been an honour to serve on the Board of Directors, and I highly encourage anyone qualified and interested in contributing to your national association to apply. Nominations for these two positions can be submitted here. The deadline for nominations is February 20, 2023.
