Your Q4 Association Update: From the Executive Directors Office
October 23, 2023Welcome to our Q4 newsletter, and this year seems to have just flown by. We are coming off the heels of our annual conference; SonoCon 2023, which took place in Halifax, NS this year. It was wonderful to see everyone in person once again. We had excellent education, a plethora of Hands-On Workshops, and plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
For those who joined us either in person or online, thank you for attending, and we hope you found the content valuable. The video library has been updated and you should have exclusive access to the recordings to watch and obtain additional CPD.
And to everyone, we hope that you’ll save the date and join us in Vancouver next year. We will host SonoCon 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, October 25-27, 2024.
We’ve have numerous inquiries and I’m pleased to announce that the highly anticipated partnership with ARDMS is live!
This means that Sonography Canada members who wish to earn ARDMS credentials in breast, fetal echocardiography, pediatric sonography and echocardiography and musculoskeletal sonography specialties may substitute their passing scores on Sonography Canada Core Examinations 5.1, 6.0, or 6.1 within the last 5 years for the ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam.
This partnership gives Canadian sonographers the opportunity to earn additional credentials and demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities in these specialties, and to be recognized for their career accomplishments. It enables sonographers, first certified by Sonography Canada, to broaden their scope of practice, and explore new, global, career options.

In the meantime, enjoy what is left of Fall and have a safe and happy holiday season!
